How safe are our kids?” said Steven Johnson, a parent of two sophomores at Loveland High School. He and his wife, Amber, were heading to work after drop-off Wednesday morning, until they got a set of troubling text messages from their son. He had gotten to his classroom door, and it was locked with no one inside.“A message came in at 9:46 a.m. from my son, and it says, ‘There was no teacher in my first class. So they told us to sit in the lunchroom,'” Amber read from her phone, “Then [her son] says, ‘There is a threat to the school about a school shooting.’ That was at 9:57 a.m.”Read more at our partner, Denver7.

Anastasia Elliot Goes to the Circus: DIY rocker Anastasia Elliot told us about her Britney Spears experience.Anastasia Elliot: I have seen lots of amazing concerts over the years from Idles to the Black Angels to Florence and the Machine and many up and coming indie acts that blew me away.I am going to have to give the best gig I ever saw though to the first concert I ever attended: Britney Spears’ Circus Tour. As a classically trained musician and singer, I could choose many other shows that were maybe more musically or vocally mind blowing, but Circus was a show that impacted me personally at a young age.The extreme attention to detail, set design, costuming, Britney’s command of the stage as an entertainer, and the world building around a concept album are things that greatly inspired my own artistic direction. Growing up attending the opera and the ballet, I have always been obsessed with shows that are grandiose, with no small detail left unpolished. In 2009, when my 15 year old...
