NEW DELHI (AP) — President Joe Biden and his allies plan to roll out plans on Saturday for a shipping corridor that would connect India with the Middle East and ultimately Europe — a possible game changer for global trade to be announced at the Group of 20 summit. The proposed memorandum of understanding for a shipping and rail transportation corridor would include the United States, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union and other countries in the G20, said Jon Finer, the president’s deputy national security adviser.Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi plan to announce the project as part of the Partnership for Global Infrastructure Investment. The rail and shipping corridor would enable greater trade among the countries, including energy products. Big or little, it all adds up to Twins’ victory over Mets

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 00:20:18 GMT

The Twins did a lot of good things on Friday night, some big, some little. In the end, it added up to a 5-2 victory over the New York Mets in front of 26,154 at Target Field. It took a good seven innings for it all to coalesce into a victory that reduced the Twins’ magic number for clinching the American League Central to at least 15 games. The Twins didn’t exactly knock right-hander Kodai Senga around, but they made the Mets’ best pitcher work — he threw 48 pitches in the first two innings combined — and New York turned the game over to its bullpen for the seventh. The big blows came from Royce Lewis, who plated two with a pair of run-scoring doubles, and Carlos Correa, who hit a mammoth, game-tying home run to start the fourth inning. But the smaller stuff added up, as well, such as four scoreless innings apiece from Twins relievers and a leadoff walk in the seventh from Matt Wallner — which lit the fuse for a three-run inning. The pure depth of small, important plays made manager Roc...

The Warriors responded on their first possession of the game as well an...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Updated COVID-19 vaccines are coming soon, just in time to pair them with flu shots. And this fall, the first vaccines for another scary virus called RSV are rolling out to older adults and pregnant women.Doctors hope enough people get vaccinated to help avert another “tripledemic” like last year when hospitals were overwhelmed with an early flu season, an onslaught of RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, and yet another winter coronavirus surge.COVID-19 hospitalizations have been steadily increasing since late summer, although not nearly as much as this time last year, and RSV already is on the rise in parts of the Southeast.Approval of updated COVID-19 shots is expected within days. They are among the tools the new director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says will help put the U.S. in “our strongest position yet” to avoid another chaotic respiratory season.“There will be a lot of virus this winter. That’s why we want to get ahead of it,” CDC ch...
