Person killed in train crash in Gilroy

(KRON) -- A female pedestrian is dead after she was struck by a train in Gilroy on Tuesday morning, the Gilroy Police Department said. Police were notified of the crash at Leavesley Road and Monterey Road at about 8:45 a.m. First responders tried life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead. Police are withholding the identity of the victim until her family is notified. (KRON) -- A man reported missing out of Oakley this summer has been found dead, the Oakley Police Department confirmed. Michael Orr, 56, was reported missing to police on July 28. Police posted about Orr's disappearance on Facebook on Aug. 3. He was found dead on Monday. His body was found by a vineyard worker north of Main Street and west of Big Break Road. He was lying along a fence line adjacent to railroad tracks and a vineyard. Teen girls nabbed after San Francisco business ransacked The body was identified as Orr by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.Orr's family has set up a GoFundMe for his funeral funds. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Firefighters are responding to a building fire near Alamo Square in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Firefighters union. The one-alarm fire broke out at 815 Hayes Street. Murphy was no longer on the active roster for the Salt Lake Bees on Tuesday, two days after he went 1 for 5 in his final game. His last major league game was with the Colorado Rockies during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, after which he said he was retiring.The 38-year-old Murphy hit .295 for the Bees with one homer and 25 RBIs in 40 games. DENVER (KDVR) — The Lakewood Police Department announced one of its own passed away Monday after a battle with an illness.Veteran Lakewood Police Agent Fred Saforo was 26, police said on Tuesday.Saforo was part of Lakewood Police for four years. He died after a "brave battle with an illness," the department said.Saforo was "the guy everyone wanted to work with," and always had a smile and a positive attitude.
