A shooting in North Oakland early Sunday morning injured two and left one man in critical condition.The shooting occurred at 12:02 a.m. near the intersections of 63rd street and Baker street.A group of people were standing outside in that area when someone began shooting at them. A 33 year old man who lived in the neighborhood was hit, along with an 18 year old woman.The woman was hit twice and the man once, both in the torso. It’s unclear where the shots came from or if the two individuals knew each other. No one else was wounded in the shooting.Both people were transported to a nearby hospital. Screen on the GreenPeaches are making a rare late-September appearance in Los Gatos—Princess Peach, that is. The Town of Los Gatos is showing “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” Sept. 22 on the Civic Center Lawn as part of its Screen on the Green series.At 6:30 p.m. Kona Ice will begin selling its shaved ice treats, and at 7 p.m. Los Gatos Mayor Maria Ristow will welcome attendees. The movie will begin at sunset, around 7:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and low-back chairs, as well as their own food and drinks. OSO, YSI get county grantsSanta Clara County recently approved grants for the expansion of two local youth environmental education programs: the Youth Science Institute (YSI) and O’Neill Sea Odyssey (OSO).Founded by Jack O’Neill in 1996, OSO provides free firsthand marine science learning for 5,000 fourth- through sixth-graders and students with disabilities annually. Los Gatos received its first official residential development project that invokes a state housing law designed to streamline the process.The proposed 52-unit, mixed-use, multi-family development at 405 Alberto Way made its way through the planning commission earlier this month and is has moved past the pre-application phase. SINGAPORE (AP) — Carlos Sainz Jr. won the Singapore Grand Prix for Ferrari on Sunday as Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s historic win streaks in Formula One came to an end.
